LIFTING LOOPS & SOCKETS
Lifting loops and sockets are interrelated lifting components used in pre-cast concrete structures, manufacturing and building industries. They aid the safe transportation and placement of structural components.
Lifting loops
Lifting loops are used in the production and construction industry of precast concrete structures to facilitate the transportation and placement of components easily as well as safely. These lifting loops are designed for a long lifespan and are constructed of steel wire rope securely threaded into an externally threaded steel ring. Which, when used, mates with a permanently inserted steel thread of the same thread form and dimensions.
When using lifting loops, the following things must be taken into account:
Threads must be driven in completely.
Clean dirty threads of transport anchors and lifting loops.
The loop must not be damaged.
Lifting loops can only be used for traction with angles between 0 and 45° with regards to the axis of the socket. In case of larger angles, the Special Lifting Device must be used. To prevent a premature state of wear, the vertical curve radius of the load hooks must be at least the same as the wire diameter of the lifting loop. As any other lifting equipment, lifting loops must be inspected once a year by an expert.
